Ashley Gierke is a visual artist based in Clearwater, Florida. She works with a range of mediums, including paper-cutting, painting, drawing, and sculpture, often blending techniques to explore form, texture, and emotional depth.

She has been making art for as long as she can remember—it’s her favorite language and form of expression. In 2014 at age thirty, Ashley was diagnosed with breast cancer, shifting her relationship to her work. What had always been a creative outlet became a lifeline, a way to process fear, grief, and the complex feelings of living in a changed body.

Since then, she has created more than 300 drawings, many of which explore themes of vulnerability, healing, and growth. This year she will release her illustrated memoir Lifectomy that documents her cancer experience and recovery. This beautifully crafted book features 75 thoughtfully curated drawings from the collection.

Her love of color and form are palpable in her more recent dimensional, abstract paper pieces and paintings. She transforms this ordinary material into kaleidoscopic works of art using a variety of holographic and specialty papers.

With over ten years of experience in interior design and project management, Ashley brings a keen understanding of how art can complement and enhance various spaces. This expertise enables her to effectively serve her clients, helping them select pieces that emphasize who they are and elevate their homes.

Ashley holds an MFA in studio art from the University of California, Davis, and a BFA in sculpture from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
