"While this piece is mostly driven by the beauty of the materials (the patina pattern of the foils, the colors from the holographic paper...), I can't help but wonder if the pinwheel shape is inspired by my pool patio umbrella. I spend a lot of time looking at it from my studio table. I love the contrast of its black and white fabric, its vintage reference, and just how "Florida" it is; something I never imagined appreciating as much as I do." -Ashley 

Holographic paper is one of Ashley’s favorite materials. It’s visually striking and features a shimmering, iridescent surface capable of displaying a spectrum of colors. This transformative quality occurs as light interacts with the paper, causing it to shift and change hues when viewed from different angles. As you move around Ashley’s artwork, the colors shift, captivating your interest and drawing you back to it again and again.
