Influenced by her love of Mary Oliver's poetry as well as insects, Ashley has titled this piece, "How to love this world." Oliver's work holds up a microscope to nature, calling us to notice its beauty, something Ashley aim's to do with the things she creates.
This piece is a recreation of a drawing she made in 2015.
Holographic paper is one of Ashley’s favorite materials. It’s visually striking and features a shimmering, iridescent surface capable of displaying a spectrum of colors. This transformative quality occurs as light interacts with the paper, causing it to shift and change hues when viewed from different angles. As you move around Ashley’s artwork, the colors shift, captivating your interest and drawing you back to it again and again.
